Axes, arrows and a tidy up!

Axes, arrows and a tidy up!

Well we tidied up after the lovely party in the walled garden – the bouncy castle has gone as have the portaloos and things were all normal for a short while. We admired the butterflies, dead headed the roses and picked a few cherries from our cherry trees as they are now ready to eat. What seemed like a water leak in the utility room stopped and now we just need to solve the problem of water getting in to the boiler house.

A bit more progress has been made on the estate in the form of the asbestos being carefully removed from the Rectory and the ice house has been cleaned out so we can now go in and see what it looks like. We have even begun to uncover a road north of the walled garden.

Towards the end of the week things started getting busy again as we prepared for a staff activity day. The axe throwing and archery caused a bit of a stir but our Health and Safety man made sure we were fully covered and less violent activities including welly wanging and house tours calmed things down a little bit. A visit to the pub and a BBQ in the garden rounded things off nicely and everyone had a good time. Yes we did send the same number of live people back on the bus on which they came!
