The excitement built this week as we began to look forward to Cadwell and the British Superbike Racing. The tents and caravans set up near to the track and traffic increased and the tension built. We hosted our first pre-race party at South Ormsby and we were amazed by the number of people who came along. The Massingberd Arms had people queuing out the door but kept their cool. The Racers introduced themselves and the huge screen showed Superbike racing in action. The evening came to a close with people dancing away to The Stolen Fridays; what a thoroughly enjoyable evening. We’ve even started thinking about next year, with ideas and feedback to make it even better.
On a more sedate note we invited the Horncastle History and Heritage Society over for a tour of part of the Hall and the village. They were very interested in the whole package and seeing how it fitted together and asked lots of questions as well as providing some answers – Thank you to them and especially for their kind donation to Church Funds. The walled garden is looking good and the plums are doing particularly well. The walnuts are now falling form the tress and have shells – the cows seem rather partial to them! Faster broadband is now installed and uploading photographs and large documents now takes a fraction of the time. We just need to get our wifi sorted now!
