Information
Grass-Fed, Pasture Raised
Preferring a forage-based diet, the Lincoln Reds grow much slower than other breeds so they live a longer life before they can be slaughtered. This slower growth produces the fuller flavour and rich marbling of the Lincoln Red.
Grass-fed beef also offers significant nutritional benefits over grain-fed beef including…
- Higher in vital Omega-3 fatty acids, vitamins A, E, B12 & B6, and the minerals selenium, iron, zinc and magnesium
- 3 to 5 times more CLA (Conjugated Linoleic Acid); another type of fatty acid, which exhibits antioxidant activity and is good for preventing heart disease, diabetes and cancer
- It contains unsaturated fats which are healthier than the saturated fat in grain-fed beef.
Farm to Fork
Our beef comes with our “Farm to Fork Traceability Guarantee”, with each product including the unique animal identification number so you can trace your cuts of meat down to the cow it came from and where on the Estate.
Our beef is dry hung for 21 days to allow the meat to mature before it is expertly butchered by our artisanal butchers, local to the estate. Butchered seasonally, Massingberd-Mundy Lincoln Red beef offers superior quality for a considerably better taste and delicious marbling which adds to the flavour.
We are passionate about sustainability, and our range of boxes allows all cuts to be used, meaning all our beef is going straight into our boxes directly to you, with near-zero waste.
Please Note…
Due to our artisanal butchery processes, and every animal being unique, box contents may vary in weight and contents due to availability. Where this is the case, we will always substitute for a greater value cut of meat, and/or increased weight of the box.
Our beef is not Kosher. Our cattle are slaughtered in line with all legal obligations, with a fully qualified vet in attendance, and without any religious acts performed during the process.
Delivery & Storage
Delivery
Once you have placed an order you will receive an email confirming your order, and then another when it has been dispatched; it may take up to 10 working days to be dispatched. This is because we only prepare them for dispatch when our artisanal butcher is satisfied the beef has been aged, frozen and packed to our high specifications, ensuring the beef that arrives with you is of the highest quality.
You’ll then receive an email from our courier giving you a delivery date and timeslot to help you plan for the delivery. If you’ve given us a mobile telephone number, you may also receive a text message with this information.
All our beef is packed in as much environmentally friendly packaging as possible, include using sheep’s wool instead of polystyrene to insulate the beef transit; not only is it better for the environment, but it’s also superior at keeping your order cool.
Storage
When delivered, you can enjoy your beef straight away or put it in the freezer to enjoy later.
If you do plan to eat it straight away, please ensure it is defrosted thoroughly before cooking. With some cuts, such as the steaks, you can safely speed up the defrost by popping the vacuum-packed steaks in some warm water (not hot) until fully defrosted (usually no more than 20 minutes), then cook as normal.
