A Committed Community!

Wow what an exciting weekend! – The BBQ at the Massingberd Arms with live music was a huge success and raised over £1600 for St Leonard’s Church!

Nicky Haxby and her Dream Team; David, Cheryl , Ted, Jenny and Mike did an amazing job and are delighted with how much money was raised. Lots of other people helped as well and I know they were very grateful to Andy at the pub for hosting the event. The weather was perfect and a good time was had by all.

Up the hill at the Church was another successful event – the Elizabethan Singers from Alford were a talented group who were extremely professional. Their performance of Music for a Summer’s Evening, conducted by Andrew Willoughby, ensured a very enjoyable evening in a beautiful setting and raised even more money for our group of churches.

Sleepy village with not much happening…. NOT South Ormsby – it’s the place to be!

We hope to add to the community feel this coming Saturday (15th July) with our picnic in the walled garden. We have been busy tidying up the area and deciding exactly where to put the bouncy castle and face painter. We constantly check on the forthcoming weather forecast as the weather has been a bit unpredictable of late and although it might be a bit overcast it’s currently predicting nice warm temperatures with some sunshine too. We have chosen some unusual items from the house to share with you and these will be on display in one of the marquees so if you come along pop in and take a look. Our  two new walking leaflets will be there for you to pick up as well (The Skipwith Stride and The Wesley Walk). We have to say ‘sorry no dogs’ and would like to remind you to bring your picnic blanket and pack up! We look forward to seeing you on Saturday between 2pm and 4pm.
