Down at the Old School, preparations were in full swing to get things ready for the Vision for the Future Exhibition on which was held on Thursday 14th. The planning consultants Indigo joined forces with the architect teams from t-sa and MBA to ensure the public got a clear picture of the proposals forthcoming developments with the Hall and Parkland.

Facilities for the heritage apartments in the Hall together with rooms to be retained for public viewing were covered as well as the conservation, preservation and reservation of the landscape Parkland. 121 members of the public visited, along with representatives from the Parish Councils in Brinkhill, Tetford & Salmonby, and Greetham with Somersby, and we got some very positive response.The feedback will be analysed, and thoughts and ideas fed through to future meetings.

We have had a couple of vacancies within our staff structure and have been avidly interviewing to fill these. Hopefully, we will be at full strength shortly with a couple of new positions filled too. We are indeed an expanding team!

Unfortunately, the adverse weather forecast caused the postponement of the Photography Course. Damian Furlong, our Estate Photographer was torn as he didn’t want to let people down but also wanted them to have a quality experience. He is hoping to reschedule within the next couple of weeks and has everything crossed for the perfect weather.

The recent weather has been causing us more trouble. Gale force winds caused disruption and our Estate Manager, Paul Barnes encountered another tree down and had to call on local farmer Tom Baxter to help move it as it was blocking the way!

MacDonald’s Metal Fabrications are well on the way to finishing the metal fence panels near the pub. They have welded repairs and have also reinstated identical new panels where repairs just weren’t possible.
