A Week on the Estate: Tractor Run, Hand Reaping & New Owls
High summer is upon us at South Ormsby Estate and new life and fresh growth abound.
The Belchford Wolds Tractor Run took in our beautiful parkland last weekend. A magnificent array of tractors (and drivers!) of all ages, shapes and sizes lined up on the South Drive. John Smith of Louth Tractors was on hand to marshal the traffic, while organiser Jill Newby handed out the Lincoln Red hot beef rolls. These succulent snacks went down rather well with the 80-plus drivers and crew.
The tractor run took in over 20 miles of beautiful tracks and roads, a bona fide victory lap for our region’s hard-working farmers. It’s a good job Verity was on hand to make sure her dad, Estate Manager Paul Barnes, didn’t get lost.
