A Week on the Estate: Tidy Church, Restored Wall & Rotary Visit

Market Rasen Rotary visited South Ormsby Hall on a warm but somewhat damp evening last week. Rotary is all about building friendship and giving back to the community, and it’s always a pleasure to host our local Rotarians.

Brollies were essential as we showed off the Walled Garden and our thriving population of Lincolnshire Buffs. Undaunted by the rain, the group also took in the Hall’s exterior and Lime Tree Avenue and enjoyed a talk on the past and future of the estate in the courtyard.

We’re passionate about our mission and we’re happy to chat about it, whatever the weather. We’re working towards a vertically integrated rural estate; commercially and environmentally sustainable and self-sufficient. We want to create the kind of opportunities that will make our local area a fine place to live, work and play.  We want our wild flora and fauna and our native livestock to thrive together.

We rounded off the evening with hot beef rolls at The Old School Tea & Coffee Shop, featuring the estate’s own grass-fed Lincoln Red beef and crusty rolls from Myers Bakery, Horncastle. The mature trees in full leaf did a fine job of keeping the rain off the picnic area.
