A Week on the Estate: Cyclo-Cross, Mass Gathering & Cecile’s Wisdom
With the harvest behind us and winter to come, we let our hair down a little this week.
The South Ormsby Estate team took a break from their labours and enjoyed a ‘Mass gathering’ (sorry!). A good time was had by all with drinks, chat and hot beef rolls at the Massingberd Arms. The café crew particularly enjoyed having the beef cooked for them for a change.
The Alford Wheelers returned to South Ormsby Estate in fine form last weekend. The weather smiled on this well attended Cyclo-Cross event, and there was just enough mud and moisture to keep things entertaining for these hardy cyclists.
After a morning’s pedal-pushing, the Alford Wheelers were certainly ready for their lunch of hot Lincoln Red beef rolls at The Old School Tea & Coffee Shop. We’re grateful to their president Fred James and all concerned for helping to organise this cracking event. Thanks also to Damian Furlong for some fine up-close pics of these athletes in action.
