A Week on the Estate: Caroline Age, Prairie Cattle & Saturday Veterans
Over the last few weeks, we’ve joined the nation in offering our sorrow and respect at the passing of the second Elizabethan age. Today, Friday 23rd September, marks the autumn equinox and a decisive change of season. What better time to celebrate the beginning of a bright, new Caroline age.
The Saturday Club has just reached its second anniversary and is at full strength. Of our ten young workers, two – Kaycie-may Coxon and Ben Weston-Tattam – are from the founding five. Another original member, Kitty, is working as an assistant groundskeeper on the Estate while studying for her A-levels. To find out more about the day-to-day successes of the Saturday Club, you can read the latest from Clarice HERE.
Our Saturday Club kids are earning a wage while gaining experience of useful, hands-on work around the Estate and picking up all kinds of skills. The current intake is full but the waiting list is open again. To join the waiting list or to ask any questions, please drop Clarice a line here: Clarice.Weston@southormsbyestate.co.uk
The Saturday Club continues to benefit from the generosity of skilled professionals who give up their time in our regular enrichment sessions. Most recently, Estate Photographer Damian Furlong shared the tricks of his trade and the team got to try out some serious camera kit. In the end, we weren’t sure who was photographing who.
