A Week on the Estate: Omega Unblocked, Festival News & Freshest Beef
Easter Weekend is upon us and right on cue the weather is reverting towards the seasonal norm. The northwards kink in the jetstream that formed an Omega block and gave us weeks of warm, dry and sunny weather moved rapidly to the south of the UK early this week. This re-opened our skies to rain-bearing, low-pressure systems, and Wales, western England and Northern Ireland had heavy and sometimes disruptive rainfall on dry ground.
We had a welcome drop or two of rain midweek followed by strong winds, but the short-term local picture remains fine and dry if a little cooler than we’ve become used to. We’re set for a sunny, breezy bank holiday weekend with a temperature range of 16C-5C and the chance of short-lived showers.
We’re already half-way through meteorological spring and the Lincolnshire Wolds Outdoor Festival gets underway on 17th May. We’ve devised 11 thrilling, fascinating and enchanting festival tours to showcase our beautiful corner of the Wolds. We recommend grabbing a brew, browsing your options and booking your favourites to make this one a festival to remember.
There really is something for everyone. If you’re a walker, you can choose between a leisurely amble or a proper hike. Want to take a peek inside the Massingberd-Mundy Distillery, check on the progress of our vineyard or get acquainted with our native-breed Lincoln Red cattle? Care to get acquainted with all of our birdlife by day or our owls at twilight? If you’re answering ‘yes’ to any of the above, we’ve got you covered.
HOT OFF THE PRESS! We’ve just added geocaching, an exclusive look at the Lake’s new cascades and a mindful twilight stroll to the festival programme. We’re offering you all of the above and more this year, in the company of our friendly expert guides. Click HERE to plan YOUR Lincolnshire Wolds Outdoor Festival. Early booking is recommended: opportunities like these don’t come around too often.
