A Week on the Estate: Spring Arrives, Healing Hikes & First Greens
The first few weeks of May gave us the rainfall and warmth we’d been waiting for. Across the estate, nature has sprung into verdant life.
After last weekend’s showers, Nicky Coxon popped down to the community garden with a couple of (so-called!) volunteers. The soil was suitably refreshed and the project’s very first greens have emerged into the light of day. There’s no time to rest, alas, as the weeds also appreciated the rain.
National Walking Month and Mental Health Awareness Week have happily coincided with warmer weather, longer days and spring in full swing. It’s been a tough year for mental health but the benefits of immersing yourself in the sights, sounds and sensations of the countryside are hard to overstate.
